First Club Game, TK painting continues, Stevo makes a purchase

First time since January I made it to the and I got to play the game, that’s right Warhammer the Old World. I was up against Pat and Tom. Pat had the world’s smallest High Elf army and Tom ran quite a balanced Bretonnian force.

I took Orc and Goblins, what I hoped was a fun army to play against. I’d got:

Black Orc Warboss, War Boar, Choppiest Choppa

Weirdnob, Ruby Ring of Ruin

BSB

16 Black Orcs

15 Biguns Thrusting Spears

15 Orc Boys Warbows

20 Night Goblins + 2 Fanatics

9 Bigun Boar Boys

6 Boar Boys

Orc Chariot

Mangler Squigg

2 x 10 Goblin Archer Skirmishers

10 Orc Archers, Skirmishers, Frenzy

I hope this wasn’t too bad, and as I lost I think it was OK.

Pat had:

Dragon Mage (yes he went Dragon in his 1000 points)

24 Lothern Sea Guard

5 Ellyrion Reavers

10 Swordmasters

Tom Had:

Duke on Pegasus

Paladin on Horse

2 x 6 Knights of the Realm

3 Pegasus Knights

15 Skirmishers Archers

Possibly Pat had not got the memo regarding a friendly game!

The table

Kenton hooked me up with some spell cards from a third party printer. Made it easier.

I was not aggressive enough, Brendan won’t even understand but I got smacked about by the Knights and the Dragon Gunship hosed me down.

The game itself swung backwards and forwards, the Orcs were a tough nut to crack but Tom used his Duke better than I my Warboss so my little boar boy unit and chariot got eaten.

Really felt like Warhammer from yester year. Really enjoyed it. We need to get slicker with the rules as Pat loves massive games and I think this could be it but it can drag with some of the fiddlier rules!

Still chewing through my Tomb Kings

Tomb Kings are getting there, I now have:

10 Medium Cavalry – still have shields to do!

2 x 20 Spearmen

32 Archers – probably going to deploy as attachments

8 Tomb Guard

Written like this it doesn’t feel much but that is 90 in 8 weeks!

Painting him as a mascot for my Blood Bowl Team
Skeleton Horse
Also bought this fella, couldn’t help it!

  1. I probably have deep rooted insecurity issues playing high elves…. You know that fear of using armour that resembles paper mache? That is my phobia when playing elves and they haven’t yet shown me a game where my fear isn’t proven right… :p I really should be a dwarf or bret player but the elves force me to play differently and that has to be a good thing? Right….

      1. agreed. The fact that charging units don’t automatically dice first is a game changer and makes high initiative useful.

So, have to stop thinking like a dwarf player and start thinking fast and mobile
